  Benzyl benzoate is the ester of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid, with the formula C6H5CH2O2CC6H5.It's CAS Registry Number is 120-51-4.Benzyl Benzoate is primarily used topically as a treatment for lice and scabies infections. When used correctly and under the care of a licensed physician, Benzyl Benzoate can eliminate lice and scabies infections completely. Benzyl Benzoate works by damaging the nervous systems of these infectious pests and can be obtained over-the-counter without a prescription.

  1.Instruction to Benzyl Benzoate for Lice Treatment
    Head lice are parasitic bugs. They live on the human scalp because they feed on human blood. Lice infestations are not caused by unsanitary conditions. They do not cause disease, but they can be very irritating. Head lice can damage your hair and should therefore be removed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Next is the treatment.
  (1).Consult a physician to ensure that you do not have any pre-existing allergies, medical problems, or drug interactions that may interfere with the effectiveness of the Benzyl Benzoate lotion.
  (2).Shampoo and dry hair completely to remove any existing oils, impurities, hair products, or ointments that may be present.
  (3).Apply Benzyl Benzoate to hair as directed by product label instructions. The hair and scalp should be completely wet.
  (4).Leave the Benzyl Benzoate lotion on the affected area(s) of the hair for at least 24 hours.
  (5).Wash affected area(s) with shampoo, rinse with warm water, and towel-dry completely.
  (6).Use a fine-tooth comb and a mirror to remove any eggs from hair that may persist. Assistance may be needed for hard-to-reach areas of the head in order to remove the lice completely.

  Scabies (from Latin: scabere, "to scratch"),also called Norwegian scabies or colloquially the seven-year itch,is a contagious skin infection caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei.   (2)Clean all infected areas of the skin and towel dry completely.
  (3)Apply and leave the Benzyl Benzoate lotion on the affected area(s) for at least 24 hours.
  (4)Wash and towel dry affected area(s) thoroughly to remove Benzyl Benzoate.
